Where we work

Thirty-four cities, two states, one crew.

We’re roughly forty minutes south of downtown Kansas City, which puts most of the metro inside an easy drive. Pick your city for local pricing, recent projects nearby and the systems that hold up best in that area.

Why the metro calls us

Not every company covers the areas you actually need, which slows projects down and limits your options. We cover Kansas City and a wide range of nearby cities and counties, so you can move forward without the delay.

Every project gets the same process and the same attention to detail, wherever it is. Our coatings are built to perform in real Missouri and Kansas conditions.

From high-traffic business zones to residential streets, the goal does not change: a floor that stays durable and consistent over time.

Residential and commercial, everywhere we go

Our coverage supports both residential and commercial work. Homes get garage floor coatings, patio coatings and interior concrete finishes designed for daily living.

Businesses get commercial systems that handle traffic, cleaning and long-term use — retail, warehouses and offices alike, each built around how the space actually operates. Because we work across a wide area, scheduling stays flexible and projects keep moving.

Built for Kansas City conditions

Kansas City and the surrounding counties share the same pressures on concrete. Heat, humidity and freeze-thaw put stress on a floor that an untreated slab cannot take for long.

Every system we install is chosen with those conditions in mind. Proper preparation and the right materials are what make a coating bond correctly and keep performing — whether the job is in the middle of Kansas City or out in a surrounding county.

Our concrete coating services

What we install, wherever you are

We don’t push a single product. After we look at the concrete, its moisture and how the space gets used, we’ll tell you which of these actually fits — and which ones we’d skip.

Flake Flooring

Best for garages, basements, shops

A seamless, non-slip floor in the flake blend you pick. The workhorse finish for garages, basements and showrooms.

Metallic Epoxy Flooring

Best for basements, showrooms, retail

Poured metallic pigment that moves like stone or water. No two floors come out the same, which is the point.

Learn more →

Solid Color Epoxy

Best for workshops, plants, garages

One clean colour, wall to wall. The straightforward choice for shops, warehouses and utility spaces.

Learn more →

Concrete Overlay

Best for worn patios, floors, walkways

A new surface over worn concrete, textured and coloured to order — without the cost of tearing the slab out.

Learn more →

Concrete Polishing

Best for warehouses, retail, offices

Mechanically polished to the sheen you want. No coating to wear through, because the floor is the finish.

Learn more →

Dye Polishing

Best for showrooms, breweries, lobbies

Translucent colour driven into polished concrete, so the aggregate and the character of the slab still read through.

Learn more →

Grind and Seal Concrete

Best for high-traffic industrial floors

Grind to expose the aggregate, then seal. The cost-effective route to a durable, easy-to-clean industrial floor.

Learn more →

Stain and Seal Concrete

Best for patios, basements, entries

Acid or water-based stain with a protective seal, for patios, entries and floors that should not look coated.

Learn more →

Best for driveways, patios, pool decks

Driveways, walks and patios cleaned back and sealed against Missouri freeze-thaw, salt and stains.

Why High Stakes

Most failed epoxy floors were lost before the coating ever came out of the pail.

Coatings don’t fail because of the product. They fail because of what happened — or didn’t happen — to the concrete underneath. That’s the part we refuse to rush.

01 / Prep

We grind. We don’t acid etch.

Every floor gets mechanically diamond-ground to an open concrete profile before anything is applied. It’s slower, dustier and the single biggest reason a floor lasts fifteen years instead of peeling in two.

02 / Materials

Commercial-grade product on residential jobs.

The same coatings we put down in warehouses go into your garage. No thinned box-store kits, no shortcuts on mil thickness to make a number work.

03 / People

The owner is on your job.

High Stakes is owner-operated by Tyler Wilms out of Cleveland, MO. The person who quotes your floor is the person standing on it with a grinder.

04 / After

You get the cure schedule in writing.

When you can walk on it, when you can park on it, how to clean it, and what’s covered. Written down before we leave, not guessed at over the phone a week later.

How a job runs

Four steps, and you’ll know where we are in all of them.

Step 01

Free on-site estimate

We measure, check the slab for moisture and cracks, and lay out real flake and color samples in your space so you can see them in your own light.

Step 02

Diamond grind & repair

Old coating comes off, the slab gets ground to profile with dust-contained equipment, and cracks, pits and control joints get filled.

Step 03

Basecoat, broadcast, topcoat

Basecoat goes down, flake is broadcast to rejection where the system calls for it, then it’s scraped back and locked in under a clear topcoat.

Step 04

Walk-through & cure schedule

We walk the finished floor with you, hand over the written cure times and care instructions, and haul every bit of our mess out with us.

Frequently asked

Questions we get on almost every estimate.

How long does an epoxy floor last?

That depends almost entirely on the preparation underneath it. A floor that was ground back to sound concrete, with the cracks repaired before coating, outlasts one that was rolled over a dirty slab by years. It is why our quotes always price the prep as part of the job rather than as an option.

Can you coat over an existing epoxy or paint?

Usually we remove it. Whatever failed the first time is still under there, and a new coating bonded to a failing one fails on the same schedule. Our prep and removal service exists for exactly this.

Will you coat a garage floor with cracks in it?

Yes. Cracks, spalling and pitting are patched during prep. What we will tell you honestly is when a slab has moved enough that a coating is not the right answer — an overlay hides a bad slab for a season, and we would rather not sell you that.

Do you work on commercial floors as well as garages?

Both. The same systems go into shops, warehouses and showrooms as into home garages, which is why a residential floor from us is rated well past what a car and a floor jack ask of it.

What areas do you serve?

The Kansas City metro on both sides of the state line, plus western Missouri and eastern Kansas — thirty-four communities in all. If your town is not on the list, call and ask; the edge of the map moves.

How do I get a quote?

Send us the square footage, the current condition of the concrete and the finish you have in mind, or just call. Quotes are free, and we reply within 24 hours.

Ready when you are

Not sure if you’re in range?

Tell us where the floor is. If it is a drive we can make, we will tell you straight away — and if it is not, we will say that too.
